ABOUT

Dolma (Miki Johanison) is a licensed and practicing Acupuncturist. She initiated her holistic family medicine services in Montgomery county and is located in Frederick, MD to support the health needs of the community.  She also maintains an office in Silver Spring, MD at The Spectrum Center for Natural Medicine (http://www.healingspectrum.com/).  Additionally, she serves as a faculty member at Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly known as Tai Sophia Institute http://www.muih.edu).

Since graduating from high school in 1983, she has obtained a Bachelors Degree, two Masters Degrees, a Doctorate Degree and attended two Army Colleges. Dolma served in the United States Military for 21 years. She currently speaks publicly regarding the many benefits of whole body wellness.

Raised on a farm most of her childhood, Dolma grew up learning the value of good food and holistic medicine. She is a family member of six generations of a farming heritage, with grandparents and great grandparents well versed in herbal remedies, and holistic care. Dolma is a strong supporter and advocate of sustainable farming, and promotes green energy. Originally from the Nashville, Tennessee area, she has lived in many different areas of the country and abroad, earning several military medals and certificates of excellence. She understands the value of hard work, sound ethics, and good leadership.

Additionally, Dolma has been a practicing Buddhist since the early 1990s. She is currently a member of local and international Buddhist communities and served as an ordained member for six years.  She guides many of her patients through various forms of meditation practices best suited for individual constitutional types.

Dolma has served on several committees and Boards of Directors and Trustees for the last twenty years and is currently a member of the Maryland Acupuncture Association, and the American Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine.
